Cop in hot water for double hit on pedestrian crossing

Kuliyapitiya Superintendent of Police has taken steps to suspend the Sub-Inspector attached to the Arupola Police, who caused an accident and hit a pedestrian with a helmet Wednesday (15).

Arupola Police arrested this Sub-Inspector on Wednesday (15) and he was remanded after being produced before the Narammala Magistrate’s Court.

This Sub-Inspector was riding a motorcycle belonging to the Police station when he collided with a pedestrian at the pedestrian crossing on Arupola – Bamminna road. The Policeman fell on the road along with the motorcycle after the accident and when the pedestrian went to help the officer, he got up from the ground with the help of the pedestrian and hit the pedestrian with his helmet.
