Couple taking photos near Galle Face podium arrested

Colombo Fort Police officers have arrested a couple who took photos while standing near the main podium for the invited guests that will be built for the National Independence Day celebrations to be held on February 4 at Galle Face Green.

The Colombo Fort Police said that the arrest was made based on a notification by the Presidential Security Division that the couple’s behaviour was suspicious. It has been revealed that they are residents of Galle. After confirming the identity of the couple and checking the intelligence reports and fingerprint reports, steps were taken to release them on police bail, According to the Colombo Fort Police.
