Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday lifted the travel ban imposed on former President Mahinda Rajapaksa for ten days.
Counsels appearing on behalf of the former Prime Minister pleaded that his client be permitted to travel abroad between April 20 and April 30 to attend a conference in South Korea.
Seventeen persons including former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Minister Namal Rajapaksa had been banned from travelling abroad in connection with the ongoing investigations into the attack on the protesters at the ‘Gota Go Gama’ in Galle Face and in Kollupitiya.
