“We should start thinking in a new way to be relevant with the modern times that we are living in and not be trapped in the usual framework of ancient and outdated fruitless ideas,” Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and Opposition Leader and Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa said.

The SJB Leader said that a creative data centred journey must be taken in order to save Sri Lanka from the death trap that the country has fallen into.

“Presently the country is having death traps leading to the destruction of the economy due to debt, industrial collapse, micro, small and medium scale businessmen and industries which are the economic engines of the nation struggling to survive”, Premadasa said.

Sajith Premadasa said this while addressing the Young Professionals Association conference held at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo on Wednesday.

He further said the vast majority of women, which is 52 percent of the country’s population, are subjected to domestic violence, harassment and abuse meted on the roads and at their workplaces.

“In order to solve these problems such as the younger generation leaving the country and to prevent the intellectual brain drain that is taking place due to professionals leaving the country in a mass exodus, it is necessary to think creatively outside of the usual old fashioned outdated method, think out of the box, formulate policies based on data and implement them with fixed dates to implement them,” SJB Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa said.
