NPP Executive Committee member and MP Vijitha Herath said MPs who obtained the highest preferential votes from Gampaha district by sowing the seeds of racism in the country has now fallen at the foot of SJB leader Sajith Premadasa without any hesitation.
“Isn’t this the biggest disrespect done to the people of Gampaha district,”MP Herath asked.
Addressing a rally in support of NPP Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Kiribathgoda he said that a litre of kerosene which was Rs.80 then, has now shot up to Rs.202. “A litre of diesel which was Rs.108 has gone up to Rs.317, he said.
He added that train fares have increased and said that a large group of parliamentarians who were supporting the SLPP, have switched to support President Ranil Wickremesinghe. “Another group of Parliamentarians are with the SJB. A woman parliamentarian from Rathnapura has said that she cannot align with any faction now as one party is headed by her leader and other faction is led by the deputy leader,” Herath said.
