Customs seize drugs worth over Rs. 60Mn.

The officers of the Customs Narcotics Control Division have seized a variety of drugs worth Rs 60 million, contained inside seven parcels sent to Sri Lanka from United States, Canada and several European countries including France to different addresses in Colombo.

Following an investigations the addresses mentioned in the parcels  were found fake and had proceeded to open the relevant suspicious parcels for inspection.

The officials have discovered nearly 08 kilograms of marijuana known as “Kush,” 160 grams of a dangerous drug called “Mandi,” 350 Ecstasy pills, and 08 grams of the highly addictive and potent “ice” drug.

The seized drugs will be handed over to Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further investigations.
