Death of Mary Nanayakkara

The death occurred on Sunday of Mary Agnus Lilly Nanayakkara (82), wife of former Editor of Lake House sports weekly Kreeda, the late Tusitha Nanayakkara, after a short illness.

She leaves her four children, Tharanga, Subashini, Hansa and Ayodhya Nanayakkara, a former Tharunee journalist. She was also the mother-in-law of Sunday Observer Deputy News Editor Chamikara Weerasinghe.

Her remains are lying at the Mahinda Panagoda funeral parlour at Thalangama, Koswatta. The funeral will take place at Thalangama cemetery, Koswatta today (17) at 5.00 pm.
