Defence Ministry Expenditure Head passed with majority

The Expenditure Head of the Defence Ministry under Budget 2024 was passed in Parliament yesterday by a majority of 68 votes with amendments.

Following the debate of the Committee Stage held for the second day yesterday, All Ceylon Tamil Congress MP G.G.Ponnambalam called for a division for the budget head of the Defence Ministry. The vote was held at around 6pm where 76 votes were cast in favour and eight votes were cast against it.
