Delegates from Thai, Malaysian Chemical Societies visit IChemC

An esteemed group of chemistry experts from Thailand and Malaysia made a courtesy call to the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon on July 19.

The President of the Institute, Prof. Namal Priyantha, warmly welcomed the delegates and briefed them on the aims and objectives of the Institute, the successor to the Chemical Society of Ceylon.

The delegates from the Chemical Society of Thailand, included Prof. Vudhichai Parasuk, President; Prof. Narunol Kraeaongarjnukul, Vice President and Prof. Supawan Tantayanon, Past President of FACS and Emeritus President, Prof. Zuriati Zakaria, Vice President of the Chemical Society of Malaysia. Also in attendance were Prof. Priyani Paranagama, Treasurer; Dr. Dinusha Udukala and Dr. Medha Gunaratna, joint Secretaries; G. Karunaratne, Registrar; N.I.N.S. Nadarasa, Senior Administrative Executive Officer of IChemC and Prof. Srianthie Deraniyagala, Dean, College of Chemical Sciences of the Institute.

The purpose of the visit was to explore potential opportunities for fruitful collaborations, foster international cooperation and promote sustainable development among nations.
