Navy Commander Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera on Thursday (14) symbolically handed over Prosthetic legs to three Naval War Veterans, disabled during the humanitarian operation. The generous gesture came into being at the Navy Headquarters as part of the programme to provide Prosthetic legs to disabled Naval War Veterans.
The Ranaviru Seva Authority has implemented a programme to provide Prosthetic legs to War Heroes who lost their legs in the war. In the initial phase of a programme aimed at providing Prosthetic legs to Naval personnel who have lost their legs, the Commander of the Navy oversaw the presentation of these prosthetic limbs. The initiative was made possible through contributions from the Navy’s Welfare Directorate and Naval Social Responsibility Fund.
