State Defence Minister Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon said yesterday that Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana has been proposed as the General Secretary of the new alliance to be formed by the majority of MPs from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) who decided to support President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming Presidential Election.

He further said that the name of Minister Ramesh Pathirana was proposed as the General Secretary of the new alliance.
