Dubai Police arrest Asian gang involved in professional begging

Dubai Police have arrested an Asian gang consisting of 13 individuals who were engaged in organised begging, led by a ringleader operating from outside the country.

The group used various methods, including fabricated stories and emotional manipulation, to exploit the sympathy of members of the public.

The arrests were made as part of Dubai Police’s anti-begging campaign launched under the slogan “A Conscious Society, No Begging.”

The campaign is being conducted in cooperation with strategic partners including the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai.

The initiative aims to raise public awareness and preserve the country’s civilised image by combating begging and preventing it. (Newswire)
