Ease shortage of medicines fast – Sajith

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament yesterday that there is a serious shortage of medicines in hospitals across the country.

He also said that even his party is ready to support the process of obtaining medicines to rectify the issue.The Opposition Leader said this while raising a question to the Health Minister regarding the shortage of medicines. He said that he is asking what measures will be taken by the government to ease the shortage. He also said that about 700 specialists have left the country due to brain drain.The number of facilities in the hospitals has decreased and many serious crises have emerged in Hambantota Hospital as well.

He said that he would request the Health Minister to announce the solution to the country.

Many serious problems have arisen in Hambantota, Karapitiya, Anuradhapura, and many other hospitals. No doctors, no medicine, and even no facilities. Not only that, there are many other big problems.The solution given by the government for these problems should be told to the country.
