Economic Transformation Bill passed without vote

Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa informed Parliament yesterday that the Public Financial Management Bill and the Economic Transformation Bill were passed with amendments. The debate on the Bills began at 10 am and it continued till 5pm yesterday. Amendments to the Bills were presented after the debate.

Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella said that the objection of the SJB against the Economic Transformation Bill should be noted. But there is no objection to the State Financial Management Bill.

MP Weerasumana Weerasinghe also said his party also opposes the Economic Transformation Bill.
