EDEX helps youth to fulfil educational aspirations – British HC

The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Andrew Patrick highlighted the importance of gaining higher education by youth and thanked EDEX Expo 2025 for taking a step to encourage the youth to fulfil their aspirations.

The High Commissioner made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the three-day EDEX Expo-2025 education exhibition and job fair which concluded at BMICH on Sunday (19).

HC Patrick highlighted that he was happy to attend the education exhibition and job fair and said, Sri Lanka works towards its future visions.

He said UK stands ready to collaborate on its future educational, economic and social development activities.

“Education is a powerful force transformation and UK is happy to be a partner in helping Sri Lanka build expertise and promote growth and innovation,” he said.

EDEX, Expo-2025 Chairman Mahinda Galagedara said EDEX has a rich history and it continuously play a pivotal role in encouraging the Sri Lankan youth to achieve their future goals.

He also said education is the corner stone of every society as it plays a tremendous role in shaping our future generation and it also helps to empower individuals, equips them with knowledge and skills.

He also said EDEX is prepared to face any challenges of this changing world and could fulfil the aspirations of youth by building a better society through education.

A large number of visitors including schoolchildren from Government, private and International schools and also from universities attend the three-day exhibition and job fair.
