EDEX shapes educational landscape of SL youth – Canadian HC

Canadian High Commissioner for Sri Lanka Eric Walsh valued the service rendered by the organisers of EDEX exhibition and the job fair for schoolchildren, university students, school leavers and young job seekers in the country by conducting this annual exhibition and said it helps the younger generation to prosper their future ambitions.

The Canadian High Commissioner made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the annual EDEX exhibition and job fair, conducted at the BMICH.

Royal College Principal Thilak Waththuhewa and EDEX Chairman Mahinda Galagedera were also present.

Over 25,000 visitors including schoolchildren from Government, private and International schools and also from universities attended the three-day exhibition and job fair that concluded on Sunday (8).

High Commissioner Walsh also said the EDEX exhibition plays a major role in bringing together students, parents, educators, institutions and service providers to one platform.

He highlighted that he was happy to attend this occasion and said education stands as the cornerstone of progress, laying the foundation for innovation and growth.

He also said the EDEX exhibition with its rich history continues to play a pivotal role in encouraging the Sri Lankan youth to achieve their future goals.

EDEX, Expo-2024 Chairman Mahinda Galagedara said education is the cornerstone of every society as it plays a tremendous role in shaping our future generation and it also helps to empower individuals, equips them with knowledge and skills.

EDEX Chairman Galagedara also highlighted that participant students were keen to follow both local and foreign educational courses introduced by many local and foreign educational institutions at the exhibition.

He also thanked all foreign educational institutions including Australia, Japan, Canada, Malaysia and Germany who had stalls at the exhibition.
