Enshrining of Sacred Relics on July 23

A ceremony will be held at the Sri Samadhi Buddhist Centre in Kotalawala, Kaduwela, next Sunday (23) at 8.23 am to enshrine Sacred Relics in the Dagaba which is being built at the temple premises. The depositing of valuables in the Dagaba will also take place on the same day.

The ceremony is organized by the Dayaka Sabha, Sri Samadhi Dhamma School and the Anula Devi Women’s Society under the patronage of members of the Maha Sangha.

The Sri Samadhi Buddhist Centre, established in 2009 in the Kaduwala Divisional Secretariat, is popular among the Buddhists in the area and its first Chief Incumbent was Ven. Angunukolapelesse Gnananda Thera who is also the principal of the Sri Samadhi Dhamma School.

The Sacred Relics donated by Mahanayake of Sri Rohana Sangha Sabha and Chief Incumbent of Siththamgalla Rajamaha Viharaya Most Ven. Agalabada Piyasiri Thera and Chief Incumbent of Siri Sanghabo Pirivena of Attangalla Most Ven. Yatawaka Sumana Thera was taken in procession to the temple from the Rankadu Paththini Devalaya on July 19 and there will be an exposition of the Sacred Relics at the temple premises from 5.00 am to 5.00 pm till July23.
