Ensure essential public services during Season – President

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has directed officials to develop a formal programme aimed at maintaining essential services and public services seamlessly during the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year season. This initiative is intended to guarantee the smooth operation of essential services without any disruptions during the festive season.

In addition, the President has emphasised that institutions that falls under essential category such as the Presidential Secretariat, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Defence, Health, Transport, and Power and Energy Ministries must collaborate to prepare this programme jointly. The President has directed the security forces to execute a comprehensive programme to ensure the public security and the maintenance of the law and order for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season.
