Exposition of Deegawapiya relics in Kelaniya till Sept 3

Thousands of devotees flocked to the Kelaniya Temple on August 30 to pay their homage to sacred Omniscient Relics of Deegawapiya Stupa and the Crest Gem.

The exposition of the revered articles started recently in order to provide the devotees with the opportunity to witness and worship them.

The relics unearthed from the Deegawapiya site during the excavations as well as the ‘Crest-Gem’ embedded with 2,800 precious stones will be displayed at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya from August 29 to September 3 for the worship of the devotees. Subsequently, the 150-day-long exposition of the sacred Omniscient Relics of Deegawapiya Stupa and the Crest Gem will be arranged for veneration of devotees countrywide.

This will provide a rare opportunity for the devotees of the country to pay the homage to the Deegawapiya revered articles and further to extend their contribution to the restoration work of theDeegawapiya premises graced by the Buddha.
