Fifty doctors blacklisted

Health Ministry Director Dr. Priyantha Attapattu yesterday said that they blacklisted 50 doctors who went overseas without giving prior notice.

 

A tense situation was reported at the Balangoda Hospital yesterday as surgeries have been limited due to a lack of surgeons.

 

Eventhough there had been six doctors on duty, only two doctors were on duty yesterday and this situation has caused an inconvenience to the patients seeking treatment from the hospital. There was also a notice in the hospital saying that only urgent surgeries will be performed at the hospital until further notice.
