Fire at Colombo Port extinguished

The Fire Department of the Colombo Port extinguished a fire which broke out on a ship anchored at the JCT 4 jetty at the Colombo Port, yesterday morning.

The Fire Department of the Port extinguished the fire. The MSC Capetown ship belonging to the shipping company of Geneva, Switzerland, arrived at the Colombo Port from the Port of Singapore and was supposed to unload 995 containers and load 880 containers, according to the port authorities.

Ports, Shipping and Aviation, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva instructed the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman Keith Bernard to conduct a full investigation into the incident.
