Fire breaks out in Piliyandala house, none hurt

Piliyandala Police say that a room on the ground floor of a two-storey house on Mandavila Road, Piliyandala, was destroyed by a sudden fire yesterday afternoon.

Immediately after the fire broke out, officers of the Moratuwa Municipal Council’s Fire Department arrived and worked to contain the fire without allowing it to spread.

Police say that it is suspected that the fire started from a lit mosquito coil.

No one was injured in the fire.

The Moratuwa Municipal Council’s Fire Department put out the fire.
