Prima under 15 Sri Lanka Youth Leauge cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket in collaboration with Sri Lanka schools cricket Association started yesterday (21).
Five teams namely, Colombo North, Colombo South, Kandy, Galle and Dambulla are taking part this tournament which is conducted after laps of two years due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The under 15 teams are competing for the Prima Cup while Ceylon Agro Industries are once again has come forward to sponsor this tournament.
This youngsters are our future National prospects and players like Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka, Kamil Mishara, Dunith Wellalage have played in this tournament, said Mohan de Silva.
Sajith Gunaratne the Deputy General Manager of Ceylon Agro Industries said this tournament is a pathway to under 17, under 19 teams and later to the National level.
Kithma Vidhanaparhirana will lead the Colombo North side, Reshan Peiris for Colombo South, Sethmika Seneviratne will captain the Kandy side, the Galle side will be led by Viran Chamuditha and Pabasara Dissanayake will lead the Dambulla side.
