Former MCA President Tissa dies

Former Mercantile Cricket Association President Tissa Madigasekera passed away on last Sunday and his funeral will be held tomorrow (19) Thursday at Borella Cemetery.

An old St Josephian Madigasekara was the 34th President of the Mercantile Cricket Association (2006 to 2008) and has done a remarkable job to uplift the MCA. He joined the MCA representing JL Morrison Son & Jones was the General Secretary (1999 to 2001) before taking over the top post Presidency. He was also a long time Committee Member at Bloomfield C&AC & also served as the General Secretary of Otter Aquatic Club.

Tissa Madigasekera leaves his wife, Swarna, Daughter, Ayanthi (USA) & son Doctor Chamupathi (USA).

His remains lie at Jayaratne funeral parlor VIP section from today (18) and the funeral will be held tomorrow (19) evening. (D.R)
