Forty eight Bakamuna garment factory workers hospitalised after food poisoning

Forty eight workers were admitted to hospitals in Bakamuna and Attanakadawala yesterday morning due to food poisoning at a birthday party in a private garment factory near Bakamuna town. Forty patients in Bakamuna Hospital and eight patients in Attanakadawala Hospital are undergoing inpatient treatment currently according to the Chief Medical Officer of Bakamuna Hospital. According to the sources from the Bakamuna Hospital, around 400 employees have obtained treatments from the OPD of Bakamuna Hospital.

Employees admitted to the hospital with symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting after having food at the birthday party of an officer of the factory. About 800 employees have participated in this party.
