Forty five petitions against Online Safety Bill – Speaker
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena yesterday told Parliament that he had received copies of 45 petitions that had been filed in the Supreme Court against Online Safety Bill.
The Speaker said he had received copies of 34 petitions
earlier while copies of 11 new petitions were received on Tuesday.
He said that these petitions have been submitted in terms of 121(1) of the Constitution. The Speaker said this while issuing announcements at the beginning of the proceedings of the House.
