Four injured as brakeless boom truck crashes in Kaleliya

Four persons were hospitalised after a Boom Truck crashed into ten vehicles at Kaleliya  on the Pasyala-Mirigama road Saturday afternoon. Police said the truck collided with eight three-wheelers, a car and a motorcycle before crashing into the wall of a house.

The driver of the truck who is under arrest has told the police he could not control the vehicle due to a brake failure. The injured were admitted to the Mirigama Hospital.Two are said to be in a critical condition. Heavy traffic prevailed in the area as the police had to remove the vehicles damaged in the accident. Police are investigating the incident.
