French tourist injured in Sithulpauwa elephant attack

A French female tourist who came to visit the Sithulpauwa sacred site had been attacked by an elephant and admitted to Debarawewa Hospital.

The Kirinda Police, who are investigating the matter, said that she was attacked by an elephant while she was taking a photograph on the way to the monks’ aboard at the sacred site. This elephant attack had taken place day before yesterday morning (20). Hospital sources stated that the condition of the 25-year-old French woman named Romaine, who was attacked by wild elephant, is not serious.Police said that this French girl had come to Sithulpauwa sacred site in a van with a group of five French nationals.
