Gamini Jayawickrama Perera’s funeral tomorrow

The last rites of former Minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera will be held tomorrow (20) afternoon at the Pannala Stadium.

He passed away last Saturday after being ill for sometime. His remains are kept at his residence in Katugampala.

Gamini Jayawickrama Perera, who was elected to Parliament from the United National Party in the 1977 General Election, also held the post of Chairman of the UNP for sometime.

He held several Cabinet portfolios and later became the Chief Minister of the North West Provincial Council.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to visit Katugampala to pay his last respects to the late Minister.

The President visited Gamini Jayawickrama Perera’s house to look into his well-being on February 11.
