General Election 2024 candidates’ preference numbers released today
The Election Commission said that preference numbers of the candidates contesting the 2024 Parliamentary Elections in all 22 districts are expected to be released today (16).
The Election Commission has already received the preference numbers of the candidates contesting the upcoming Parliamentary Election from all districts.
The Election Commission said that after re-checking and verifying all the preference numbers of candidates, the relevant documents are to be submitted again to District Secretaries. Accordingly, the issuing of preference numbers of candidates in all districts is expected to be completed by today, the Election Commission stated.
Previously, on the final day of accepting nominations from political and independent groups, the Election Commission announced that preference numbers will be allocated and issued for each candidate contesting from all the 22 districts in the upcoming General Election within the next few days after finalizing the total number of eligible candidates who will be contesting from all the districts.
