German tourist drowns in Tangalle sea

A tourist who was vacationing in the Southern coastal belt had been reported dead after he drowned while bathing in the sea in the Seenimodara area in Tangalle. It has been revealed that the deceased tourist is a 49-year-old German national according to the Tangalle police. While bathing in the sea, the tourist had got caught in a wave and had been swept away from near the shore area. The people at the beach who had witnessed the incident taking place had got together and rescued the tourist, Tangalle Police stated.

The German tourist was admitted to the Tangalle Base Hospital where he succumbed, Police reported.

The Tangalle Police is carrying out further investigations into the incident.
