Reshan Algama from Colombo International School and Chanaka Perera from Certis Lanka have been chosen to represent Sri Lanka at the esteemed 122nd Amateur Championship of India. This premier golfing event is scheduled to take place at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club in Kolkatafrom December 12 to 17.
The Royal Calcutta Golf Club boasts a rich history as the oldest golf club in India, having been the host to numerous National and International tournaments. Now, Algama and Perera are set to showcase their golfing prowess on this distinguished stage.
The initial two days, the 12th and 13th, will witness two Stroke Play rounds, where teams will be in fierce competition for International trophies. These rounds will also double as qualification rounds, with the top 32 gross scores earning the opportunity to advance to the match play stage.
As these talented golfers prepare to represent Sri Lanka, the nation eagerly anticipates their performance on the challenging greens of the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, rooting for success in this prestigious international competition.
