Government revenue far below- President

The President Ranil Wickremasinghe has notified the Cabinet that Government revenue for January 2023 is far below the monthly expenditure estimates.

The General Treasury is unable to meet all current expenditures, except payments for salaries, pensions, welfare, pharmaceuticals and debt servicing. President has instructed to cut down government expenditure even further.
