“Govt committed to routing underworld crime”

Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated that the Government will take necessary steps to curb underworld activities.

“As a Government, we are dedicated to suppressing underworld crime and combatting drug trafficking. However, we do not intend to rely solely on short-term or two-week operations. The Police and Security Forces are systematically engaging in this matter,” he said. He said that several preliminary steps have been taken in this regard so far, adding that it is important to discuss the outcome rather than the course of action.
