While emphasis should be given for power generation, even greater focus should be given to minimize ‘power leaks’ in distribution, storage and usage, said Associate Manager, FPQ and Training Manager, Fluke Corporation, USA, R. Girish.
He was speaking at a Fluke Power Quality technical seminar organized by Marlbo Trading Company at Taj Samudra, Colombo last week. He said currently detecting ‘electrical leaks’ and providing solutions for them is a priority in many countries including in India but in Sri Lanka sadly this aspect is overlooked causing ‘wastage’ of electricity. He said that Fluke offers these ‘High-quality accurate equipment to detect this leakage investment made towards this is an investment to save electricity. He also said that since appointing Marlbo Trading Company a few years ago their agents have given a good market for their Fluke power tools. “
Fluke Corporation operates over 70 years in over 70 countries and our average market share in most of the countries is around 40% and in Sri Lanka thanks to Marlbo Trading it’s over 50%,” he said. H M Wijekoon,Project Director, Colombo Port City Development Project, Ceylon Electricity Board also spoke at this event where over 200 engineers and technical personalities of the Sri Lankan energy sector participated.
