Gunshot misfires in personal dispute

Okkampitiya Police have started investigations to arrest a suspect who tried to shoot a person in front of a school in Dambeyaya on Sunday (30) night.

The person for which the gunshot was intended is a resident of Okkampitiya Buruthagolla. Police said the suspect, identified as ‘Sudda’, is also a resident of the area.

Investigations have revealed that the shooting was based on an old dispute between the two.

Police said that the gunshot had misfired, and the suspect fled and is in hiding and investigations are underway to arrest him.
