Gunshots fired into air near Wellawatta hotel
Two unidentified men on a motorcycle near a hotel along Marine Drive in Wellawatte fired shots into the air.
Police said that the persons in question fled after firing.
According to the police media division, the suspects have used a T-56 assault rifle.
Police recovered at least nine empty shells at the scene and suspect that the shots fired may have been a warning.
Further investigations are being conducted by the Wellawatte Police into the incident.
