Harshana and Yasitha in easy wins

Harshana Godamanna and Yasitha de Silva two experienced Sri Lankan tennis players recorded an easy victories in their singles matches when they beat Bangladesh opponents respectively at the opening day of the Group IV Davis Cup Ruketon tournament played at SLTA courts yesterday.

Godamanna defeated Mohammad Rubei Hussain 6/1,6/3 to win the game while the National champion Yesitha de Silva outclassed Ranjan Ram 6/3, 6/0 .

Meanwhile the Sri Lankan doubles pair Chathurya Nilaweera and Thehan Wijemanne beat Bangladesh pair Kawsar Ali and Joel Rana with an easy two sets 6/1, 6/0 to win the game.

Meanwhile Iraq players defeated Brunai players 3/0 while Yeman beat Maldives 2/1 in their group matches yesterday. The tournament will be continued today from 10am onwards.
