Health TUs suspend strike

The Health Sector Trade Union Collective yesterday evening decided to temporarily call off their strike from 6.30 am today.

Convener of the Collective Chanaka Dharmawickrama said that the Trade Union (TU) action launched by them over the disparities in allowances was suspended until next Tuesday.

He said that a discussion aiming at a finding solution to their issue will be held with Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana next Monday.

Dharmawickrama stated that considering the impact on the patients and the health service, they have made the decision to temporarily suspend their trade union action.
