Hit-and-run in Anuradhapura: three killed

Three were killed and two other women injured by a hit-and-run driver in Rambewa, Anuradhapura early this morning .

They said the victims were returning home after a musical show when they were knocked down by a cab ,which had been speeding towards Anuradhapura from Rambewa.

The driver had fled the scene after knocking the five of them.

The three deceased are aged between 16 and 21 while the two injured are receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Mihintale Police.
