Honey offering from Dambana for Maligawa today

The annual Honey Pooja performed by the indigenous people of Dambana to the Temple of Tooth will be performed today (26).

A group of around 30 indigenous persons led by Veddah chieftain Uruvarige Wanniyala Aththo will come for the honey offering.

For decades, the Veddah community have been offering honey found in the forest around Dambana to the Temple of Tooth on the day of the first round of Randoli Perahera the procession. This honey is used in the daily offerings of the the Temple of the Tooth.
