IDB launches e-Commerce platform titled ‘Ceylon Plaza’
The Industrial Development Board (IDB) has launched a new e-Commerce platform titled ‘Ceylon Plaza’, to empower local Small and Medium-scale industrialists sell their products, and build an export-oriented manufacturing economy for the country.
The platform offers features such as business-to-business and business-to-consumer interactions for the users.
IDB Chairman Dr Saranga Alahapperuma stated that “the main objective of creating ‘Ceylon Plaza’ is to provide high market value to the excellent and creative products of local manufacturers and motivate them to use e-Commerce and e-Finance to sell their products. The platform also incentivizes the manufacturing industry to produce quality, creative products. All necessary facilities are provided by the IDB for free. And we also invite Large-scale industrialists to take full advantage of this platform, just like Small and Medium industrialists”.
Small and Medium enterprises registered in the district offices of the IDB can avail themselves of the support of this platform. Additionally, the IDB plans to provide space at ‘Ceylon Plaza’ for industrialists to sell their products under their Company’s Brand.
On an initiative of the Minister of Industries, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, the IDB will start the ‘Ceylon Plaza’ e-Commerce platform centered on the Katubedda Lakkam Sales Centre.
