Incumbent attacked by Temple resident arrested

Chief Incumbent of Kudahakapola Sri Purana Jayasumanarama Temple Ven.Kudahakapola Gnanissara Tissa Thera who was injured due to an attack by a person, has been admitted to a private hospital in Ja-Ela for treatment, Police said.

The attack had been carried out on Thursday. Police said a 20-year-old person residing in the temple had carried out the attack. Residents in the area caught the person who attacked the Thera and handed him over to the Ja-Ela police. The suspect was to be produced before Magistrate yesterday evening.
