India team led by Rohit Sharma is expected to score a big win over Nepal to go forward in the Asia Cup cricket tournament when they will meet Nepal today (4) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium commencing from 3pm.
After India and Pakistan game at same venue on Saturday was washed out. India team wanted to get full 2 points to head the points table.
Pakistan led by Babar Azam recorded huge win over Nepal in the opening game in Multan Pakistan hit a massive total of 342 and Nepal were bundled out for 104 giving 238 run win for Babar Azam’ s team.
India who made 266 all out against Pakistan while Pakistan paceman Shaheen Afridi made an early breakthrough to get two quick wickets Skipper Rohit Sharma (11) and Virat Kholi (4) but Ishan Krishan (82 in 81 balls)and Hardik Pandya (87 in 90 balls ) built up their innings with a 138 runs fourth wicket stand.
Afridi was the chief wrecker with 4 for 35 while Nadeem Shah and Haris Rauf took three wickets each to contain India for 266 before bad weather called off the game.
Today India has to battle once again with rain which is going to be the deciding factor. Meanwhile Sri Lanka team left for Lahore on Friday will meet Afghanistan tomorrow.
