Sri Lanka’s inflation for the second month in succession increased to 3.4% for the month of November. This was from 1.5% in October.
Contribution to month on month was contributed by an increase in food items by 0.12% and an increase in non food items by 0.95% respectively.
Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe earlier said that there may be variations in the inflation but it would be maintained at 5% and steps would be taken to curtain it from further moving up. Sri Lanka’s inflation a year ago was around 70%.
