Insurance sales rep caught distributing ‘ice’

An insurance sales representative who was distributing ‘ice’ drugs in Dambulla area by taking money through the Ez Cash system has been arrested by the officers of the Kandy Unit of the Police Narcotics Bureau with 21 grams of ‘ice’ drugs.

Investigations have revealed that this insurance agent, who is a resident of Bakamoona, Jayasiripura, distributed drugs from a motorcycle with his insurance dealer’s ID card. The suspect is 28 years old. A senior Police officer said that he was arrested near a supermarket in Dambulla.

The Police Narcotics Bureau has also taken over the motorcycle on which the suspect was carrying drugs. The Police Narcotics Bureau states that further investigations are underway regarding the network through which he received drugs.
