Int’l leadership confab for Parliamentarians begins tomorrow

The International Leadership Conference for the Parliamentarians of the Asia Pacific Region, under the theme of ‘Accountability in Action: Fostering Transparency and Good Governance Among Parliamentarians’, is scheduled to take place tomorrow (6), at 2.00 p.m. in Parliament.

The event will be held under the leadership of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane on the invitation of International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP), Asia Pacific Region Chairman, former President Maithripala Sirisena.

This is jointly organised by Sri Lanka Parliament and the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) with its affiliated organisations, International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP) and International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP).

Chairman – UPF International Charles Yang, Chairman – IAPP Asia Pacific Ek Nath Dhakal MP (Nepal) and Chairman – UPF Asia Pacific Region Masaichi Hori and several MPs representing Malaysia, Nepal, India and Bangladesh are expected to participate as international delegates for the conference.
