Judge Ilancheliyan elected to lead High Court Judges Association

Vavuniya High Court Judge Manikkavasagam Ilancheliyan was unanimously elected President of the Association of High Court Judges of Sri Lanka. The election was held in Colombo on Wednesday to elect a office bearers for 2024.

In 2022, Ilancheliyan was elected to the position of President of the High Court Judges

Association for the first time through the majority vote of the members.

He has served for a long time as a High Court Judge in Jaffna and Trincomalee and currently is serving as Vavuniya High Court Judge. Judge Ilancheliyan is known in society because he delivered several important judgments during his tenure and treated the family of his security Sergeant after he was shot and killed.
