JVP criticised Suwaseriya then but praising it now – Sujeeva

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, which made accusations that the Suwaseriya ambulance service was brought to Sri Lanka to collect genetic samples of people has now admitted it is doing a good service, SJB member Sujeeva Senasinghe said.

He was speaking at a media briefing organized by the SJB led alliance Samagi Jana Sandhanaya in Colombo on Saturday.

Addressing the media he further said, “The JVP policy statement contains only concepts. The JVP has not presented a specific plan anywhere.

Also, the JVP which opposed the projects and investments that were brought to the country and sabotaged them, today say that the country needs those projects. Their latest ideology has become the capitalist economy,” he said.

“People should vote very carefully at the Presidential Election. The people should find out what the candidates contesting for Presidency have done for the people during their time in politics.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s comments made with hatred a few years are now being presented to the public in a different way. But even if the stories uttered by Anura Kumara and Harini Amarasuriya has changed, the foundation of the JVP will not change. The members of the JVP have not changed. Also, in the past JVP has been following socialism mixed with terrorism. “Today, the JVP is following an extreme capitalist approach”.
