Kahawatte murder: Doubt whether it was daughter or another

A doubt has arisen for the investigating Police officers whether the younger daughter murdered Vinitha Jayasundara, of Kahawatte a mother of three, or whether she got the help of another person.

The youngest daughter of the murdered woman was arrested according to the information received from the investigations at that time.

In particular, there was much evidence against her, such as the fact that her watch was on the ground near the dead body, and the blood stains in the living room of the house were washed.

So far, the investigations have revealed that the murder took place when the daughter came home from work.The suspect told Police that she found her mother’s body lying in the kitchen half an hour after she came home.

The senior police officer also said that when the daughter came home from the workplace and the time she shouted to the neighbors that her mother was dead, it was confirmed that the time was about half an hour. However, the officer mentioned that it is still under investigation whether she had the ability to kill her mother take the dead body to the back of the kitchen, and hide the blood-stained clothes and the knife within half an hour.
